Who are LEAP Participants?Healthcare professionals interested in learning about Palliative and End-of-Life care. Including:
  • Nurses
  • Physicians
  • Pharmacists
  • Social Workers
  • Paramedics
  • Carers
  • Allied Health (Personal Support Workers)
  • Educators
  • Etc.
What are important Pallium Portal terms to understand as a LEAP Participant?Enrolled:
You have either:
  1. Successfully paid Pallium Canada via PayPal
  2. Entered an enrollment key to confirm your registration in a face-to-face session

Enrollment Key:
Enrollment Keys are often used in "closed" sessions that are invite only. In these sessions, LEAP Coordinators or Facilitators distribute enrollment keys to invited LEAP Participants.

Closed Sessions:
Closed sessions are sessions that are only accessed by invitation. They are typically offered within an organization that wishes to train their employees.

Open Seats:
Open seats are open to anyone who would like to register for a LEAP course. You will be prompted to submit credit card payment on the Pallium Portal.

Sponsored Seats:
Sponsored Seats occur in "closed" sessions that are by invitation only. Sponsored seats are fully funded by the institute or organization putting on the LEAP course. LEAP Coordinators or Facilitators will distribute enrollment keys to invited LEAP Participants. There will be two keys: one for physicians and one for non-physicians. It is important that LEAP Participants use the key for their role because it determines which certificate you receive.

Reserved Seats:
Reserved Seats occur in "closed" sessions that are by invitation only. Reserved Seats are not financially covered and require LEAP Participants to make a payment. You will be prompted to submit credit card payment on the Pallium Portal. LEAP Coordinators or Facilitators will distribute enrollment keys to select LEAP Participants. There will be two keys: one for physicians and one for non-physicians. It is important that LEAP Participants use the key for their role because it determines which certificate you receive.
How do I make an account in the Pallium Portal?To create an account:
  1. Go to www.pallium.portal.ca or click here
  2. Select "Create new account"
  3. Fill out required information
  4. Click "Create my new account" (blue button at the bottom)
  5. Login to email account you used to create an account on the Pallium Portal
  6. You should have received an automatic email from Pallium Canada (Make sure to check your junk mail!)
  7. Open email from Pallium and click the blue link (if it doesn't appear as a link, you can copy and paste the address into your web browser)

    1. *If you did not receive an email, contact support@pallium.ca and we will confirm your account manually.
How do I reset my Pallium Portal password?In you are logged in:
  1. Click your name in the top menu where it says "You are logged in as: [your name]"
  2. In "Administration" block on the left, select "My profile settings"
  3. Select "Change Password"
  4. Create a new password (minimum 8 characters long, must include at least one digit)

In you are not logged in:
  1. Go to www.portal.pallium.ca or click here
  2. Click link called "Forgotten your username or password?" (above the login button)
  3. Search for your username or password
  4. If there is a match, the Portal will send you an email to reset your username or password
  5. Login to email account associated with the Portal
  6. Open the email from Pallium and click the link (Don't forget to check your junk mail!)
  7. Reset and record your new username and password

How do I access important Pallium Portal instructions?To access important Pallium Portal instructions (how to complete pre/post course activities, how to get credits, etc.):
  1. Login to the Pallium Portal
  2. Select "My Courses"
  3. Select the course that you would like to complete an activity for
  4. Click the activity you would like to complete (all available activities will be in blue)

Please note, some activities require you to complete questions to exit, so look for red error messages. Completed activities will be marked with a blue check mark on the right side.

If you have completed your pre-course activities and attended your face-to-face session, you will have access to your post-course activities. Look to see if you have check marks beside the "Classroom sessions" and "Attitudes to Palliative and End-of-Life Care Survey." If there are no check marks, contact your LEAP Coordinator or Facilitator and request that they mark your attendance as present. The 4-6 month commitment to change activity will unlock 4 months after you completed the first commitment to change exercise. You will receive an email when it is unlocked. You will receive access to your certificate once all activities have been completed.
