Who are LEAP Coordinators? Coordinators are responsible for organizing and planning LEAP sessions. They are the main point of contact with Pallium. They:
  • Find LEAP Facilitators
  • Communicate with LEAP Participants
  • Advertise LEAP Courses
  • Plan venues and catering
  • Manage LEAP sessions in the Pallium Portal
What are important Pallium Portal terms to understand as a LEAP Coordinator? Course:
A "course" is the general term for a specific curriculum (e.g. LEAP Core, LEAP Mini, LEAP LTC, etc.). Each LEAP course has its own dedicated page in the Pallium Portal.

Session:
A "session" is an instance of a course and is held at a specific time and location. We use "sessions" to organize our LEAP courses so we can keep track of where they occurred and who attended them.
How do I become a LEAP Coordinator?Email support@pallium.ca and provide the following information:
  1. Your Name
  2. The city you're located in
  3. All the courses you are interested in coordinating (LEAP Core, Mini, LTC, etc.)
  4. Date of session
  5. LEAP Facilitator's name

Once this information is confirmed, we will add you to the LEAP Coordinator course in the portal, where you will have access to learning materials. It is important that you sign the Terms of Use Agreement in the LEAP Coordinator Course because doing so gives you permission to access the materials in the LEAP courses (LEAP Facilitator kits, slide decks, videos, and manuals). You will also be enrolled in the courses (LEAP Core, LEAP Mini, etc.) that you requested to coordinate in your initial email. Within the course is where you can create a session (specific instance of a course), take attendance and review reports.
How do I set up a session in the Pallium Portal? Now that you are a LEAP Coordinator, you can create LEAP sessions. To set up a session, you must ensure that you are enrolled in the correct course (e.g. LEAP Core, LEAP Mini, etc.). To do this:
  • Login to the Pallium Portal
  • Select "My Courses"
  • Click the course you would like to create a session for
  • Click the activity "Classroom Sessions"
  • Below the list of upcoming sessions, click the link that says "Add a new session"
  • Fill out the required session information
  • Click "Save Changes" and then Pallium Canada will review to approve your session
  • Review LEAP Course Checklist to ensure you have everything you need in place
How do I advertise for a session?Pallium Canada has created LEAP Flyers for each course that you can download here:We have also created brochures for each course. You can download them here:
How do I review the attendee list? Reviewing the attendee list allows LEAP Coordinators to confirm everyone who was invited to the session is accounted for. Once your session is approved your participants can sign up for it. To review the attendee list:
  1. Login to the Pallium Portal
  2. Select "My Courses"
  3. Click on the course you would like to review attendance for
  4. Click the activity called "Classroom Sessions"
  5. Find your session in the list of upcoming sessions
  6. Select "Attendees" in the Options column (last one on the right)
  7. Review enrolled LEAP Participants in your session
How do I access activity completion reports? (Pre/Post Course Activities)Activity Completion:
Once your Session is approved, your participants can signup for it and start completing the pre-course activities. You can view the "Activity Completion Report" to check their progress. It is important that participants complete required activities before a Session to move things forward in the portal. To access the "Activity Completion Report":
  1. Login to the Pallium Portal
  2. Select "My Courses"
  3. Click on the course you would like to review the Activity Completion Report for
  4. Look to the left for a block called "Quick Links"
  5. Click on "Activity Completion" in the Quick Links block
  6. Click the drop down menu called "Select a Session" and choose the session you want to see a report for
The report will now only show "Activity Completion" for participants in that session. A green or blue check mark indicates that the activity has been completed.

Pre/Post Course Activities:
To access Pre/Post Course activities, follow steps 1-4 listed above. In the "Quick Links" block, you'll see a list of all activities. Click the activity that you would like to see a report for and you will be directed to a reports page. On the reports page, you can see an aggregate of all the sessions you are coordinating, or you can filter by a specific session. Use the drop down menu called "Select a Session" to see the report associated with specific sessions. You can also export the report to excel for further analysis. To do this, click the "Export to Excel" button located beside the "Select a Session" drop down menu.

Pre/Post Survey Comparison:
After a course is completed, it's useful to see how participants improved and compare results that may have changed during pre and post surveys in terms of knowledge, attitudes and comfort levels. We created a report that looks at the pre and post differences for these levels. To access this report follow steps 1-4 listed above. In the "Quick Links" block, click on "Pre/Post Survey Comparisons." Clicking will direct you to the reports page. Once on the reports page:
  1. Select a survey (Attitudes, Comfort, or Knowledge)
  2. Choose all sessions or select a specific session
The report will look for students who have completed both the pre and post versions of that survey. You can view it in the browser or download it to excel.
How do I take attendance after a LEAP session? Taking attendance is important as it moves LEAP Participants forward in the portal so that they can complete post activities. It also logs their hours in the Portal for certificate purposes. To take attendance:
  1. Login to the Pallium Portal
  2. Select "My Courses"
  3. Click on the course that you would like to take attendance for
  4. Click the activity called "Classroom Sessions"
  5. Find your session in the list and select "Attendees" in the "Options" column (last one on the right)
  6. Select "Take Attendance" below the list of attendees
For each student you'll have the ability to select "No Show," "Partially Attended" or "Fully Attended." If you select "Fully Attended," the participant will receive the full number of hours indicated in the duration field of the session. If you select "Partially Attended," you have to enter the number of hours the participant attended. You can also write a remark for reference. The value you enter in the "Hours" column is the number of credits the participant will receive. If you select "No Show," the participant will receive no credits and will not receive a certificate.
How do I access LEAP Facilitator Kits?To access LEAP Facilitator Kits you must be enrolled in the LEAP Coordinators course. Once enrolled in the course, sign the Terms of Use Agreement. When that is complete, you will have access to the LEAP Facilitator Kits on the Pallium Portal.
